MASALA DOSA: FAMOUS DISH OF SOUTH INDIA

Perhaps South India’s most famous culinary export is the masala dosa, which is well-known throughout the world. A dosa, an Indian pancake, is made from a thin batter consisting of rice, wheat, and lentils. Before making a dosa, the batter mixture must be steeped in water for at least 24 hours. A hot tava (griddle pan) is used to mould the batter into a pancake-like shape. In most cases, potatoes are served inside of folded-in dosas. Whatever you stuff the dosas with will still create a satisfying and enjoyable lunch. The meal is spicy when served with sides like hot sambar.

CHAAT: FAMOUS DISH OF INDIA

Chaat, a delicious savory snack that is well-known throughout India, is frequently connected to street food sellers in the nation’s capital, Delhi. The dish certainly lives up to its origins; the term is a mix of three Hindi words that mean “a delicacy,” “licking one’s fingers,” and “to devour with satisfaction.” Even though there are now many different kinds of chaat, the authentic dish is still a delectable combination of fried bread, chickpeas, and diced potatoes, garnished with fresh coriander leaves, yoghurt, dried ginger, and tamarind sauce.

DAL MAKHANI: FAMOUS DISH OF NORTH INDIA

Most foodies would have heard of or eaten dal, but nothing compares to the satisfaction of eating a dish in its own land. Despite the fact that there are numerous variations of this lentil dish, dal makhani stands alone. Since the Hindi word for “buttery” is “makhani,” it shouldn’t be surprising how thick and creamy this traditional Indian dish tastes. To experience the real thing, travel to Punjab in northern India.

VADA PAV: FAMOUS DISH OF WEST INDIA

Due to Maharashtra’s long tradition of vegetarianism, vada pav is the closest thing Indian cuisine has to a vegetable burger. A neatly wrapped deep-fried potato dumpling makes up the vada pav, a delicacy for carbohydrate lovers. The finger food delicacy is usually served with a few chutneys and a green chili to appease the taste buds of Indians around the country who appreciate spice. All around Mumbai, street food vendors are selling these little potato buns, popularly known as Bombay burgers.

STUFFED PARATHAS: FAMOUS DISH OF NORTH INDIA

Beyond dal makhani, Punjab has a rich culinary history. The Sanskrit word atta, which is where the word paratha, which means “layers of fried dough,” is used to describe this delicacy.  Filling parathas with your preferred filling is the most typical way to enjoy them.

PANI PURI: FAMOUS DISH OF INDIA

Pani puri is hollow, deep-fried balls made of semolina or wheat that make the ideal snack for the street. They come with hot tamarind water, smoky potatoes, and chickpeas. When eating pani puri, you traditionally use a spoon to crack open the top of the deep-fried shell before stuffing it with the delectable toppings. The majority of Indians consume each pani puri in a single fast bite to prevent any filling from pouring out of the delicate case.
